The Indonesian Presidency held several briefing sessions on the declaration prior to both segments of the fourth meeting and welcomed comments on the draft text from registered delegations. The Bali Declaration on combating illegal trade in mercury was introduced by the Indonesian Presidency of the Conference of the Parties at its fourth meeting as a non-binding political declaration.
